A therapist offers a supportive, non-judgemental and objective space for you to work through your challenges. Expect to be gently challenged, to feel a variety of feelings and to become more aware of yourself and your processes. Therapy can be hard work, but it can bring about necessary and great changes.
Gestalt therapy is talk therapy that is focussed on the here and now. Your story and your history matter, but we work with these in the present - it's the only space we occupy after all! Gestalt is also an embodied approach, which means that we are interested in felt sensations. The body doesn't lie, and when when we 'lose our minds and come to our senses' we can really get in touch with our truth.
Presently psychotherapy is online only, and Michelle is only seeing clients referred through the Gestalt Institute of Toronto student clinic.
