Therapy is an hour just for you. It is time and space to process your feelings, express yourself, get to know yourself better. Therapy is where we learn to recognise our patterns - those wonderful creative adaptations that we developed at some point in our lives in order to survive, and then face them head on with compassion and curiosity - do these serve us still? What support do we need right now? How do these adaptations impact our relationships? 

A therapist offers a supportive, non-judgemental and objective space for you to explore. Expect to be gently challenged, to feel a range of feelings and to become more aware of yourself and your processes. Therapy can be hard work, but it can be empowering and change your life for the better.

Our therapists Lisa Sutherland and Michelle Fagen can help you explore different kinds of therapy to see which one best supports you on your journey. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy are some of the methods they offer, for both one-on-one sessions as well as couples counseling. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a short-term, structured form of therapy that helps people change negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to distress. Emotionally Focused Therapy is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals, couples, and families to understand, accept, and transform emotions to create more secure and healthy relationships. Gestalt therapy is talk therapy that focuses on the present. Your story and your history matter, but we work with these in the present - it's the only space we occupy after all!
