PILATES
WHAT IS A REFORMER?
Joseph Pilates developed Pilates while being held in an internment camp during WW1, adapting exercises from his gymnastics background and used hospital beds with springs attached to create resistance equipment, inspiring modern Pilates equipment like the Reformer. It uses spring tension and straps to facilitate accurate neck, pelvis, ribcage, and shoulder positioning. The Reformer is gentle on the joints, giving you a nice stretch while you strengthen your muscles.
